Joel Embiid (illness) was upgraded to probable for the Sixers' home contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night, according to the team's injury report for the game which was updated on Friday afternoon.
Embiid said after playing in a loss to the Miami Heat on Monday that he had been dealing with an illness that the team had not listed on its injury reports in advance of the game. He was not listed on the team's initial injury report for Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards, but after missing the team's film session the morning of the game, the former NBA MVP was ruled out.
After initially being listed as doubtful for Friday's game against Minnesota – the front end of a back-to-back – the Sixers have now upgraded Embiid to probable, with multiple reports indicating he participated in the team's shootaround on Friday morning.
For Minnesota, superstar guard Anthony Edwards is questionable with an illness and a right knee issue, while ace defender Jaden McDaniels will be sidelined due to a knee injury.
