John Kopp is the Chief Health Reporter/Assistant Editor at PhillyVoice. He joined the newsroom after spending five years reporting for the Delaware County Daily Times. He spent the prior year covering state and local politics, including a $4 million Pennsylvania state Senate race. He previously covered Chester city government, the Chester Upland School District and high-school sports. A Temple University graduate, John enjoys long-distance running, watching baseball and exploring new places.

State registry now includes Philly's dangerous dogs - all eight of them

The Pennsylvania Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement now lists eight Philadelphia cases on its dangerous dogs registry, a listing designed to inform the public of any dangerous dogs living within the neighborhood. That marks a change from one month ago, when the registry did not list any Philadelphia cases.

Full service movie theater coming to Exton

Movie Tavern has broken ground on an Exton theater enabling viewers to wine and dine as they watch films from luxury recliners. The Dallas-based company is building a nine-screen, full-service theater within the Main Street at Exton shopping complex. The theater, set to open in early 2016, will be the third Movie Tavern in the Philadelphia region.

SEPTA held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday to formally commence the $19.6 million improvement project on the 69th Street Transportation Center, which serves passengers on the Market-Frankford Line, Norristown High Speed Line, trolleys and buses. Nearly 35,000 people use the station each day.

Philly police seeking suspect who fired at cab driver

Philadelphia police are looking to identify a suspect wanted for shooting at a taxi cab driver earlier this month in Overbrook. The suspect fired a single, errant shot at a Philly Cab Company taxi after exiting the cab without paying his fare, police said. The driver, a 53-year-old male, was not injured.
