Wawa, 2SP Brewing Co. team up on Sunfest Strawberry Lemonade Shandy

Wawa and 2SP Brewing Company have teamed up to create the Sunfest Strawberry Lemonade Shandy, their first summer brew since they started collaborating on beverages a few years ago. The beach-themed drink, based on Wawa's strawberry lemonade, will be unveiled on Thursday, June 24 at Wawa's new store in South Philadelphia. It will be available June 28 at select stores in Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Eastern Shore Maryland.

Rob McElhenney's Welsh soccer team will play Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park

The Philadelphia Union will play Welsh soccer team Wrexham AFC on July 29 at Subaru Park in Chester. The European club is owned by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-creator Rob McElhenney and actor Ryan Reynolds. The event at Subaru Park is free, but guests will be required to bring one item of food to donate to Philabundance.

Evan Peters listened to a Dr. Dog song to prep for standout 'Mare of Easttown' bar scene

To prepare for the memorable bar scene in HBO's "Mare of Easttown," actor Evan Peters listened to Dr. Dog's "Where'd All the Time Go?" from their 2010 album "Shame, Shame." In the scene, Detective Colin Zabel reveals to Kate Winslet's Mare Sheehan that he was dumped by his fiancé two weeks before their wedding, and that he had just seen her at a high school reunion.

Former Everybody Hits venue may become apartments, retail space

The historic building at the corner of Sixth Street and Girard Avenue, formerly home to the batting cages and live music venue Everybody Hits, could soon be preserved and redeveloped into apartments and retail. A plan being reviewed by the Philadelphia Historical Commission for the property on the edge of Norther Liberties and Olde Kensington would include 41 apartments and about 3,000 square feet of retail space.

South Philly Barbacoa to take over space of shuttered Connie's Ric Rac

South Philly Barbacoa, the acclaimed Mexican restaurant, has signed a lease to relocate to the former location of Connie's Ric Rac, 1132 S. Ninth St., in the Italian Market. Connie's, live music venue closed, during the coronavirus pandemic. South Philly Barbacoa will soon have a full liquor license and be located next to Chef Cristina Martinez's other restaurant, Casa Mexico.

Supreme Court sides with Catholic agency barred by Philly for denying same-sex foster couples

The U.S. Supreme Court sided with Catholic Social Services in its case against Philadelphia over the issue of certifying same-sex couples to become foster parents. The religious agency refused to adhere to a new city policy that prevented foster care placement contractors from refusing to work with same-sex couples. The Supreme Court found that the city's contract violated religious rights protected by the First Amendment.

Teen brothers from N.J. arrested after man found dead in Bucks County woods

Two teenage brothers from New Jersey have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man whose body was found overnight in the woods of Richland Township, Bucks County. The teens have been identified as 17-year-old Joshua Gamble and 19-year-old Anthony Gamble, both of Somerset in central New Jersey. The victim was identified as 26-year-old Kevin Rosero, of Somerset.

Philly man charged in fatal shooting at King of Prussia hotel

Jonathan Tunnell, 40, of Philadelphia, is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Henry Palmen, 35, at the Fairfield Inn in King of Prussia on Monday, June 14, 2021. Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a drug deal gone bad and that Tunnell had been wanted for parole violations prior to the incident.

Philly airport unveils strategy for major air cargo expansion

Philadelphia International Airport plans to significantly expand its air cargo capacity in the coming years in order to capture greater economic benefits in the region. The plan calls for the expansion of 136 acres that will be dedicated to air cargo facilities, bringing thousands of jobs to the area, officials.
