Registration is open for the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge, which will bring runners and walkers across the Ben Franklin Bridge on Sunday, Nov. 1. Proceeds support Larc Norcross School.
For one morning this fall, runners and walkers can leave the Ben Franklin Bridge’s pedestrian path behind and take to the roadway. Registration is now open for the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event presented by AmeriHealth, which takes place Sunday, Nov. 1. The 10K and 2-mile walk begin at 8:30 a.m. in Camden, with registration currently priced at $70 and $35, respectively. Virtual options also are available.
The 10K begins at the base of the bridge in Camden, crosses into Philadelphia, and returns to New Jersey before finishing at the Camden Athletic Complex.
The event supports Larc Norcross School, a nonprofit special needs school in Bellmawr that serves children and adults with disabilities throughout South Jersey. The school provides programs for students ages 3-21 and adults 21 and older, with a focus on growth, development, and independence. Those who would like to support Larc directly can also make a donation to the school here.
This year, organizers are introducing a three-medal series that runners can complete over the next two races. The series marks the Ben Franklin Bridge’s 100th anniversary in 2026 and the event’s 25th year on the bridge in 2027.
Runners who finish the in-person 10K this year will receive a medal showing one half of the bridge. Those who complete the 10K again in 2027 will receive the other half, along with a third medal featuring Cartoon Ben Franklin, the event’s mascot.
When all three medals are placed together, Cartoon Ben Franklin appears to be running across the completed bridge. Runners must finish the in-person 10K in both years to earn the full set.
The 2-mile walk offers a shorter way to take part in the event. Virtual versions of both distances also are available and can be completed from Monday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 1.
Current registration prices are:
• In-person 10K: $70
• In-person 2-mile walk: $35
• Virtual 10K: $45
• Virtual 2-mile walk: $30
The price of the in-person 10K is scheduled to increase Wednesday, Oct. 14. Registration is available through the official race website.
Registered runners and walkers receive a long-sleeve tech shirt, race bib and swag bag. In-person 10K finishers also receive the first medal in the new series. Tech shirts are guaranteed to people who register by Oct. 17.
The event supports Larc Norcross School, a nonprofit special needs school in Bellmawr that serves children and adults with disabilities throughout South Jersey.
