Constellation Energy plans to restart a nuclear reactor at Three Mile Island in 2027 — one year ahead of schedule — to provide energy to Microsoft data centers used for the development of AI technology. Three Mile Island is the site of the notorious partial meltdown in 1979.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority's hourly metered parking rates in Center City will go up $1 in all zones effective July 1. Rates in the Center City Core zone will rise from $3 to $4. In the larger Center City area, they'll increase from $2.50 to $3.50 per hour, and long-term meters will rise from $1.50 to $2.50 per hour. The increase is the first time rates have gone up in Center City since 2014.

As part of the $150 million restoration of the historic Cobbs Creek Golf Course in West Philadelphia, a restaurant called the Little Horse Tavern will open in September at the new campus clubhouse. The building will house a 68-bay driving range, pro shop, rooftop event space and heritage center showcasing the club's history. It will also have an indoor bar and outdoor lounge. The food and beverage program at Cobbs Creek will be run by the Fitler Club and Strother Enterprises.

Philadelphia will pay $3 million to the family of T.J. Siderio, the 12-year-old boy who was fatally shot by an undercover police officer three years ago in South Philadelphia. Former officer Edsaul Mendoza, who killed Siderio, is now serving up to 20 years in prison. The family sued the city and Mendoza last year.

The temperature at Philadelphia International Airport reached 100 degrees Tuesday afternoon — the first time since July 2012 it hit triple digits, the National Weather Service said. The city is in the midst of a heat wave and another hot day near 100 degrees is forecast for Wednesday. The last time Philadelphia reached 100 degrees in June was in 1994.

Mac's Tavern in Old City is closing after a 15-year run on Market Street. The bar is best-known for its ties to 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,' whose husband-and-wife stars Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson are part-owners of the business. The tavern did not give a reason for the closure, but thanked its supporters in an Instagram post.

Philadelphia's annual summer pop-up at Eakins Oval is back this year for a 12-week run at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The space offers free, family-friendly activities, vendor markets, food trucks, a beer garden and mini golf course run by Francisville bar and restaurant Libertee Grounds. The Oval is open Wednesdays through Sundays from June 18 to Sept. 14.

When 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' returns for its 17th season this summer, one of the new episodes will feature a crossover with ABC reality dating show 'The Golden Bachelor.' The new season will premiere July 9 with the second part of the crossover with 'Abbott Elementary' after the first part aired on the ABC sitcom in January.

Philadelphia is expected to get hot weather in the coming days with temperatures pushing toward 100 degrees by early next week, according to the National Weather Service. The city has only hit 100 degrees eight times since 2000, and hasn't reached the century mark in June since 1994. The sudden rise in temperatures comes after the city had unseasonably cool weather over Father's Day weekend.

Netflix House will open at the King of Prussia Mall in late 2025. The streaming platform's new venue — covering more than 100,000 square feet — will feature a nine-hole mini golf course, restaurant, theater and themed experiences based on the hit series 'Wednesday' and 'One Piece,' among other attractions.
