Philly health department warns residents against 'unaffiliated' pop-up COVID-19 testing sites
The Philadelphia health department has warned residents not to seek COVID-19 tests from unaffiliated pop-up tents in the city. Two sites in Center City were reported to the health department last week. Staff at these sites claimed they had received funding from FEMA, but officials said that this was not true. Wildwood's historic Shamrock building to be relocated and preserved
Wildwood bar and restaurant Shamrock Beef & Ale closed last year after nearly 80 years at the Jersey Shore, but its original structure on Pacific Avenue will be relocated and preserved, owner Tom Gerace said. The building is a surviving example of Victorian Queen Anne resort architecture and first served as the Berwind Hotel. Gerace and preservationists in Wildwood worked with developer BG Capital to keep the property intact and move it to a new site nearby on Jan. 10.January 3, 2022

Eagles fans react to scary railing collapse, close call for Jalen Hurts at FedExField
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts narrowly avoided a throng of fans who fell to the field after a railing collapsed at FedExField following the team's 20-16 victory over the Washington Football Team on Sunday afternoon. The railing gave way as Hurts and other Eagles players and staff were heading to the tunnel. Two men were fatally shot after an argument outside Club Risque in the Wissinoming section of the city early Tuesday morning, police said. Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith had a spectacular touchdown catch along the edge of the end zone in the Eagles' 34-10 win over the Giants on Sunday. The play was initially called a catch, but then ruled incomplete during an expedited review. Finally, the league looked at additional angles and restored the touchdown. More than $600K raised for family of Bucks County father, sons who died in Christmas fire
A Quakertown family suffered a tragic loss on Christmas morning when a fire took the lives of 41-year-old Eric King and two of his sons, 11-year-old Liam and 8-year-old Patrick. King's wife, Kristin, and his 13-year-old son, Brady, escaped the home and were treated for injuries. A GoFundMe campaign raised more than $600,000 to support the surviving family members.
