I write this post every year, and it really doesn't mean anything, but it feels like something to do, so you'll read it and like it. Anyway, I took a look at the 32nd overall pick – the Philadelphia Eagles' pick currently in the 2018 NFL Draft – over the last 25 years, and found that it's a shockingly bad group.

In previous offseasons, Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles have been very active in free agency. This offseason, I don't expect the Birds to be anywhere near as active, because (a) they don't have much in the way of team needs, and (b) they don't have money to spend. Still, here are three potential bargain bin players that I believe make sense for the Eagles.

By releasing Vinny Curry now, the Eagles will save $5,000,000, but will also take a cap hit of $6,000,000 in dead money. That's a tough pill to swallow, but a necessary one.

If you check out the Philadelphia Eagles' haul in the 2017 NFL Draft, you'll find that none of the Birds' selections fared particularly well at the NFL Combine. First round pick Derek Barnett, for example, was not a favorite among some fans for his lack of elite athletic measurables.
