Mulherin's Pizzeria, a new restaurant from the owners of Fishtown's Wm. Mulherin's Sons, opened Thursday in Midtown Village at 1175 Ludlow St. The all-day menu will have wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas, small plates and revolving specials for lunch and dinner.

Macy's is opening a small-sized store in Mount Laurel on Friday — the first of its kind in New Jersey — as the department store experiments with new locations at strip malls instead of the traditional mall department stores. The store in Centerton Square covers about 32,000 square feet and replaces a former Bed Bath & Beyond inside the shopping center.

Philadelphia police are increasing patrols on North Broad Street to ramp up traffic violation enforcement along the corridor. Officers will target an eight-mile stretch that runs from City Hall to the county line at Cheltenham Avenue, authorities said Tuesday.

Fishtown's Meyers Brewing Co. plans to open a new brewery and neighboring mini golf course next month in Ocean View, Cape May County. The upcoming taproom will be more spacious than the Fishtown brewery, with 12 taps and a large outdoor seating area. The existing mini golf course on the property will be reopened.

Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata sang the Amy Winehouse cover of "Valerie" during a local band's performance at the Green Parrot tavern in Bucks County on Friday. Mailata, a talented vocalist, recently signed a $66 million contract extension with the Eagles.
