A construction worker was killed at the Martin's Famous Potato Rolls and Bread plant in Guildford, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, after multiple walls collapsed during work on the company's new bakery line facility. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Steven Garrett Graby, an employee in the Structural Steel Erectors Division of Lancaster-based High Industries, Franklin County Coroner Jeff Conner said.

Amazon Fresh plans to open a grocery store at the Willow Grove Shopping Center in Montgomery County. The tech-forward supermarket from the e-commerce giant, considered a lower-cost alternative to its Whole Foods brand, currently has stores open in Warrington and Broomall. The company also has stores planned in Philadelphia, including in Northern Liberties and Northeast Philadelphia, as well as in Bensalem, Langhorne and Havertown.

Jollibee, the popular fast-food restaurant from the Philippines, is open its new Northeast Philly on Friday, Sept. 2, at 7340 Bustleton Ave. The restaurant's opening had been delayed by the pandemic. Jollibee is known for its Chickenjoy meals, Yumburgers, peach mango pie rolls and a spaghetti dish served in a sweet sauce with slices ham, ground meat and hotdog.

A Bucks County man is charged with aggravated assault after a road rage incident in North Wildwood on Aug. 20. Christopher Krier, 49, of Jamison, allegedly drove aggressively and tailgated a woman in the area of 13th and New Jersey avenues. After words were exchanged, both drivers pulled to the side of the road and got out of their cars. Krier allegedly strangled the woman and then fled the scene before police arrived.

Pvt. Alyssa Cahoon, a 17-year-old soldier with the Pennsylvania National Guard, died last week after collapsing during basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Cahoon was just days away from graduating alongside her twin sister, Brianna. Both were human resource specialists, according to the 1st Battalion 34th Regiment. Cahoon's family said she had a rare heart abnormality.

An FBI agent was injured Monday morning in an accidental shooting that happened in a loading area outside the James A. Bryne U.S. Courthouse in Philadelphia. It's unclear whether the gunshot was self-inflicted or came from someone else. Philadelphia police confirmed the incident, but said the investigation is being handled by the FBI since the shooting occurred on federal property and involved federal personnel. The agent was reportedly struck in the leg and hospitalized with minor injuries.

Josephus Davis, the man convicted of fatally shooting 25-year-old Milan Loncar as he walked his dog in Brewerytown, was sentenced to life in prison on Friday after he was found guilty of second-degree murder in June, a Philadelphia Common Pleas judge decided. Loncar, a Temple University graduate, was killed about a block from his home on Jan. 13, 2021. Davis and a second man — who has never been identified — robbed Loncar before he was shot and left in the street.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is planning to begin construction later this year on the 14-story Schuylkill Avenue Research Building, which will be built at 2716 South St. next to the Roberts Center. The project will head to Civic Design Review in September and encompasses part of a much larger, $3.4 billion development plan in Philadelphia.

Sprouts Farmers Market has signed a lease to open a second Philadelphia store in the Quartermaster Plaza shopping center at West Oregon Avenue and South 23rd Street. Sprouts, which has expanded rapidly in recent years, opened its first Philadelphia location at 1000 S. Broad Street as part of the Lincoln Square development. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts is best-known for its fresh produce and bulk foods, along with a wide selection of vitamins and supplements, natural body care and household items.
