A 70-year-old man was punched in the face when three teens attempted to rob him inside a Fashion District Philadelphia bathroom on Dec. 2, 2021. The suspect have not been identified. One of the teens brandished a gun during the incident. The man was punched in the face after he told the alleged assailants he didn't have any cash. He suffered a cut that required stitches.

Main Street Development in Philadelphia is looking build a five-story, mixed-use building with 114 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments at 7619 Germantown Ave., the former site of the Trolley Car Diner. The restaurant closed in 2019 after 19 years at the site, but Germantown Avenue has been in the midst of a transformation in recent years bringing more residential buildings to the corridor.

Milk Jawn, a popular ice cream brand launched in Philadelphia, will open its first storefront and a new production facility in East Passyunk in spring 2022. Founder Amy Wilson and co-owners Ryan Miller and Cathryn Sanderson will open the new shop at at 1439 E. Passyunk Ave., next to Essen Bakery.

Tabreia Ewing, 30, was fatally struck by a car on Route 70 in Cherry Hill on Thanksgiving. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and Ewing's body was not found until the following morning. Authorities have charged 29-year-old Michael Rodgers, of Philadelphia, in connection with the deadly incident.

The Newtown Township Police Department in Bucks County is searching for a man who assaulted a woman during a road rage incident at a PetSmart parking lot on Nov. 21. Investigators released a video of the incident that shows the male driver of a Tesla Model X shove a woman to the ground before speeding off from the scene at 2600 S. Eagle Road.

Two cats were shot to death at Pier 80 along the Delaware River waterfront in South Philadelphia, an area that is know for multiple cat shelters and colonies of strays. Caretakers at the shelter found the two cats dead on Nov. 8 and necropsies determined both cats had bullets inside them. The PSPCA is seeking help from the public to find the person responsible for shooting the cats.

A 320-unit apartment project is planned near Temple University at 1600 North 11th St., which is currently a surface parking lot. Development geared toward student housing has multiplied around Temple's North Philadelphia campus in recent years, but surging violence in the city and a string of recent incidents have left many students and their parents worried about safety.

Former Democratic Pennsylvania state Rep. Margo Davidson pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges that she stole state funds by filing false per diem requests, failed to report campaign finances and solicited a witness to lie during the state's investigation. Davidson, who represented the 164th District in Delaware County, resigned in July when the charges were announced. Her vacant seat was won by Democrat Gina Curry in a special election held in November.

Philadelphia police are searching for 17-year-old Latif Williams in connection with the fatal shooting of Temple University senior Samuel Collington on Nov. 28, 2021. Collington, 21, of Delaware County, was killed during an armed robbery nearby the North Philadelphia campus after returning home from Thanksgiving break.

A beloved sugar maple tree at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia's West Fairmount Park is slowly dying and will be cut down to make way for new trees next spring. The tree, estimated to be 100 years old, has offered residents a gorgeous view of the skyline and a perfect place to picnic and take photos.
