Franklin Institute chief astronomer Derrick Pitts shares tips on how to observe the so-called "parade of planets" taking place in January and into February. At least four planets — Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn — will be bright and visible in the night sky and will appear in an apparent alignment above the horizon. Neptune and Uranus will be too dim to see without a telescope, but Mercury may be viewable in late January.

The owner of Manayunk bar the Rook have announced plans to open a new location in Wildwood at the former space of Goodnight Irene's on Pacific Avenue. The Rook opened in Manayunk just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The restaurant is known for its menu of burgers, cheesesteaks, cutlet sandwiches and signature cocktails
