Curtis Bashaw, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in New Jersey, appeared to nearly pass out during his debate Sunday night with Democratic opponent Andy Kim. Bashaw, a businessman from Cape May, stalled during a response and looked disoriented at the podium. Kim crossed the stage to check on him. An off-duty detective fatally shot a 54-year-old man after they each stopped their cars at an intersection in Northeast Philadelphia late Thursday night, police said.
