Wissahickon Brewing Co. opening a new taproom and kombucha production facility in Olde Kensington that will open in summer 2024. The East Falls craft brewer will take over the space at 1526 N. American Street. Owner Tim Gill said the expansion has been in the works for a few years, despite challenges facing the craft beer industry. The new space will have a kitchen and private event level.

The Wegmans planned at the Prickett Preserve development in Lower Makefield will be joined by La Grange, a casual French restaurant, and Duck Donuts. Wegmans is opening in March at the mixed-use development, which will also have a Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. The town center in Bucks County will include 200 apartments, a clubhouse and 155,000 square feet of retail space.

Former Lackawanna County defense attorney Corey Kolcharno was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges that he solicited sex and nude photos from his clients, including vulnerable women with financial hardships and substance abuse problems, prosecutors said. Kolcharno will serve 4 to 23 months in prison and two years of probation. He has been required to surrender his law license.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner filed a legal challenge Thursday questioning Act 40, the Republican-led state law that assigns a special prosecutor to handle crimes at – or near – SEPTA properties in the city. Krasner has called the law antidemocratic and unconstitutional; Republicans say it will restore law and order in the city.

The University of Pennsylvania Health System has agreed to acquire Doylestown Health in Bucks County, giving it seven hospitals, pending regulatory approvals. UPHS also will integrate Doylestown Health's outpatient rehabilitation center, breast cancer treatment center and other health facilities into its own system.

Two Target shoppers in New Jersey have sued the company over injuries they allegedly suffered when a group of kids rode the company's electric shopping scooters into them at a store in Cherry Hill. The women claim the December 2021 incident left them with lasting injuries. Target has denied responsibility.
