ABC picks up new series starring Kaitlin Olson from 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'

Kaitlin Olson will star in a new ABC crime comedy called "High Potential," which is a remake of the hit French series "HPI." The "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star will play a single mom who works as a cleaner for a police department and helps solve a major crime, landing her a role as a consultant. The show's production is expected to be delayed by the ongoing writers and actors strikes in Hollywood.

Pennsylvania State Police begin testing body cameras ahead of full rollout

Pennsylvania State Police have begun testing body-worn cameras in advance of a statewide rollout to troopers at all of the department's 87 patrol stations. The initial 60-day pilot program is taking place at Troop H in Carlisle, Cumberland County. State police signed a five-year, $40 million contract for 2,500 body-worn cameras, 1,700 new dashboard cameras and new interview room cameras.

Federal Realty Investment Trust plans to build a six-story apartment building in Willow Grove that will have 260 units and ground floor space for retail and restaurants. The project is being developed near the Willow Grove Park Mall and the Willow Grove train station, a stop on SEPTA's Warminster Line.

A wearable device may one day help women detect breast cancer early – and at home

Researchers at MIT are developing a wearable breast cancer screening device that can be used by high-risk women who may develop aggressive cancers in between routine mammograms. The device includes a patch that is placed over a specially-designed bra and scanned with an ultrasound tracker, enabling women to collects data that can be analyzed by artificial intelligence.

Bucks County breweries join forces to create a new American pale ale

The brewers that make up the Bucks County Ale Trail created a new beer called Expedition Bucks County, a 4.9% ABV American pale ale. It will be available in cans and on draft starting Aug. 25. The beer's flavor is described as clear, crisp and sweet with hints of grapefruit, peach and other fruits.

Actor Mark Margolis has died at 83 years old. The Philadelphia native was best-known for his role as drug kingpin Hector Salamanca in 'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul.' He also had memorable roles in the movies 'Scarface,' 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective' and the Darren Aronofsky films 'Pi,' 'Requiem for a Dream' and 'Black Swan.'

Dog roams through I-95 traffic in Northeast Philly before being rescued by state troopers

Pennsylvania State Police rescued a dog that got onto I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia early Friday morning. It ran through traffic for about a mile before troopers corralled it on the roadside. The dog entered the highway in the area of the Betsy Ross Bridge and Allegheny Avenue around 7:20 a.m. Police say the dog was uninjured and no one has come forward yet to claim ownership of the animal.

A Philadelphia Eagles fan in West Virginia was the person behind the leaked images of the team's kelly green throwback jerseys. Brandon Winston told Axios that he found the pictures accidentally by clicking a 'Go Green' tab on the team's website. He shared them on social media – days before the team planned to release them and put merchandise on sale.

The loss of smell was a hallmark of a COVID-19 infection during the initial stages of the coronavirus pandemic. New research shows this symptom is now far less common with the omicron variant. Researchers at VCU Health believe loss of smell may have become rare because of increased immunity caused by infection and vaccination.
