This week’s SmackDown from the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and we saw the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Intercontinental Champion in another Champion vs. Champion match – this time with Lumberjacks. Cesaro and Miz got to finish their match from Raw, Jimmy Uso was back in action while he waits for his brother to recover from shoulder surgery earlier this year, and The New Day was again amazing as usual.

It was The New Day’s night on Thursday from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. I’m not talking in terms of wins, either; I’m talking in terms of just making the most of their opportunity for exposure on WWE’s B show. The group opened up the show with a fantastic promo, and ended the show the way heels should – scared and running away.

Thursday night, Vaughn Johnson and I were joined by a special in-studio guest, Broad Street Beat’s Kyle Babcock. We hit on the following topics: Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka’s arrest and charges for murder, Zahra Schrieber’s firing from WWE, TNA’s Bram being arrested for domestic violence, and the person shot outside of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando earlier this week.

Three days after Sting made his triumphant return to the WWE and was basically handed a WWE World Heavyweight title shot at Night of Champions by Triple H in September, the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island hosted SmackDown on Thursday night. It was a program to further the story between the Wyatt Family and Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose – a feud that’s gotten very good over the last few weeks.

One day after SummerSlam, wrestling fans once again packed the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the third sellout crowd in a row for WWE. There was plenty of juice in the crowd for the third night in a row of WWE action, and the show really sent fans home with reasons to keep watching as the company tried to take advantage of all the media attention its gotten from the SummerSlam fallout. I think WWE did a good job.
