Jefferson Health has finished construction of the Honickman Center, a 19-story outpatient tower at 11th and Chestnut streets in Center City. Third suspect arrested in shooting of 8 teens at bus stop in Northeast Philly
A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting in Northeast Philadelphia that injured 8 teenagers at a SEPTA bus stop last Wednesday. Jermahd Carter, 19, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday to face charges of attempted murder, firearms violations and related offenses. Two other arrests were announced Monday and one additional suspect remains at large.March 12, 2024

Man charged with fatally shooting two people in Fairmount Park
Lamar Young, 52, is charged with fatally shooting a man and woman at Fairmount Park near Mount Pleasant Mansion on Feb. 29, Philadelphia police said. Investigators said Thurston Cooper, 49, and Krystina Chambers, 38, appeared to have been shot "execution-style." A motive in the shooting remains under investigation.March 12, 2024

Two 18-year-olds charged with SEPTA bus stop shooting that injured 8 Northeast High students
Two suspects connected to the mass shooting that wounded eight Northeast High School students on Wednesday, March 6, have been arrested by Philadelphia police. They were identified Monday as Jamaal Tucker and Ahnile Buggs, both 18 years old. The shooting took place at a SEPTA bus stop near Cottman and Rising Sun avenues in the Burholme neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. Two other suspects remain at large.March 11, 2024

The Chinatown Stitch project has received a $158 million federal grant for the construction of two caps above the Vine Street Expressway. The construction of I-676 in the 1960s created a physical barrier and quality of life concerns in the neighborhood. Video shows man wanted for Tuesday's fatal shooting on SEPTA bus in South Philly, police say
Police released surveillance video from Tuesday's fatal shooting on a SEPTA bus near Broad Street and Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia. It shows the suspect shooting Carmelo Drayton, 37, after a dispute on the Route 79 bus.
