Video shows man wanted for Tuesday's fatal shooting on SEPTA bus in South Philly, police say

Police released surveillance video from Tuesday's fatal shooting on a SEPTA bus near Broad Street and Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia. It shows the suspect shooting Carmelo Drayton, 37, after a dispute on the Route 79 bus. It was one of four shootings involving SEPTa buses this week, but investigators say it wasn't connected to the others. The suspect fled on the Broad Street Line, police say.

New Jersey man charged with buying hundreds of Elon Musk's Starlink terminals using stolen credit cards

A New Jersey man was allegedly obtained hundreds of SpaceX Starlink terminals using stolen cred, which are now the subject of a Congressional investigation into Russia's alleged misuse of the satellite-based internet tech in the war in Ukraine. Kelvin Rodriguez-Moya, 35, of Newark, is accused of fraudulently obtaining 675 Starlink terminals — worth approximately $400,000 — for resale.

Campbell Soup Company made a limited-edition Jason Kelce can of chicken noodle soup that will be available as part of a giveaway to fans. The Eagles legend's retirement prompted the Camden-based company to make Kelce the Chunky brand's first 'Legend Edition' athlete. Only 620 of the green cans will be available in the giveaway.

8 teens injured in shooting at SEPTA bus stop in Northeast Philly

At least eight teenagers, all students at Northeast High School, were injured Wednesday when a group of gunmen fired more than 30 shots at a SEPTA bus stop in Burholme, police said. The shooting happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Rising Sun and Cottman avenues. Police released surveillance video on Wednesday night and are searching for multiple suspects. No arrests have been made.

Eagles athletic trainer battling cancer taped Jason Kelce's ankles for his retirement speech

Eagles athletic trainer Joe O'Pella, who has battled cancer over the last year, said Jason Kelce invited him to tape his ankles one last time before Kelce gave his retirement speech at a news conference Monday. O'Pella had missed the ritual while undergoing treatment last season. Kelce and his brother, Travis, talked about that and other topics during Wednesday's episode of the 'New Heights' podcast.

Philly D.A.'s Office to reform advisory group that helps crime victims

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office is reconvening the Crime Victims Advisory Committee that offers peer support and other services to people impacted by violent crime in the city. The CVAC was originally formed in 2018, but disbanded during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also advises the D.A.'s Office on the best ways to support crime victims and witnesses.

Police search Pinelands for missing person, 32, whose car was found near canoe landing

New Jersey State Police are searching the Mullica River for 32-year-old Elliot Gamiel, who was reported missing on Saturday, March 2. His car was found near the Mullica River Canoe Landing in Batsto and had personal belongings inside, police said.

Drexel alum gets 'Shark Tank' deal for sauce brand Fila Manila

Fila Manila, a sauce brand that celebrates Filipino flavors, got an investment on ABC's 'Shark Tank' after founder and Drexel University graduate Jake Deleon appeared on the show. Fila Manila's condiments include a banana-based ketchup, ube purple yam and coconut spread, adobo marinade and sauce, creamy peanut sauce, and pineapple rum sauce. Investor Daniel Lubetzky gave Deleon $250,000 in exchange for a 20% ownership stake in Fila Manila.

17-year-old killed, 4 others injured in shooting at SEPTA bus stop on North Broad Street

A 17-year-old was killed and four other people were injured Monday afternoon, including a 71-year-old woman. Police said two people opened fire on SEPTA bus in Ogontz North Philly, on Monday afternoon. as a Route 6 bus stopped and passengers were boarding near the intersection of Broad Street and Godfrey Avenue.

Police apprehend suspect wanted in fatal shootings at Fairmount Park

Philadelphia police released photos of a man wanted for fatally shooting Thurston Cooper, 49, and Krystina Chambers, 38, near the Mount Pleasant Mansion in the Lemon Hill section of Fairmount Park on Feb. 29, 2024. Investigators said Cooper and Chambers appear to have been killed 'execution-style.'
