Steam train built in 1838 to relocate from Franklin Institute to Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania
A steam-powered locomotive that was on display at Philadelphia's Franklin Institute for the last 90 years will be moved to the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum in Strasburg, Lancaster County. The 185-year-old Rocket was manufactured in England and imported for use on the Philadelphia & Reading Railway. The locomotive weighs 8 1/2 tons and measures 17 feet long.August 15, 2023

The New Jersey Department of Labor has temporarily closed 27 Boston Market restaurants amid an investigation into alleged labor violations, including unpaid back wages totaling more than $600,000 for 314 employees, officials said. Philly giving low-income parents $500 monthly through guaranteed income program
Philadelphia has begun a program giving $500 monthly to 50 low-income residents in the city as part of a study on guaranteed income for parents.
